About Ms. Lochbrunner

My primary instrument is viola; I also play violin, cello and bass. In addition to teaching, I play professionally around the region and perform with various chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout Southwest Virginia, including the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra.

I have been an active participant in the Roanoke arts community since relocating here in 2008 from Knoxville, Tennessee. I have held positions with the RSO, Opera Roanoke and Jefferson Center. I believe in the importance of arts education and to that end, have actively advocated for the arts by frequently participating in an arts advocacy day, organized by the Virginians for the Arts, at the Capitol Building in Richmond. I believe all students deserve access to the benefits from participation in the arts and am honored to have served on the Virginia Commission for the Arts (VCA) Arts in Education Advisory Panel, which allocates funding to educational arts programming across the Commonwealth.
