Chess Club meets on Wednesday afternoons from 3:45-5pm.  Students will meet in the auditorium until the coach gets here and takes them to the library.  For more information, see Mr. Jenkins.

Cross Country has a meet coming up!  Saturday, October 16 at 5:15 pm is the City Championship at the Lucy Addison Track and Washington Park!  See Coach Sessor or Coach Gatzke for more information!

Boys Basketball tryouts start November 11.  See Mr. Lewis for more information.  You must have a VHSL physical turned in before trying out.  There will be open gym days before tryouts (October 28 and 30 from 3:30-5 and November 2 and 9
from 1-3:30).


Cheerleading tryouts start November 6. See Ms. Bentley for more information.  You must have a VHSL physical turned in before trying out.

Heroin/Opioid Community Forums
Graphic that lists two community forums to discuss the dangers of Heroin/OpioidHeroin/opioids (prescription drugs) are a national epidemic.  It is a problem in the Roanoke Valley.  We MUST come together as a community to address this issue.

Roanoke City Public Schools will hold two important community forums.  We encourage ALL parents to attend one of these meetings.

Here are the details:

Thursday, January 25, 2018 at William Fleming High School

Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Patrick Henry High School

Both meetings start at 6:30 p.m.

These meetings will include an overview of the problem, what parents should look for, information about prevention and resources for help.  

Speakers will include representatives from Carilion, Virginia State Police, and the Roanoke Prevention Alliance & Heroin Task Force.

SPANISH:

Las Escuelas Públicas de Roanoke City tendrán dos foros comunitarios importantes. Alentamos a TODOS los padres a asistir a una de estas reuniones.
